Capacitance is one of the most commonly used components in electronic design. What role does the capacitor play in the circuit ?
Bypass capacitor
The capacitor used in the bypass circuit is called a bypass capacitor, which is used to supply energy to the local device, equalize the regulator output, reduce the load requirement, minimize the impedance, and filter out the interference of the input signal.
2. Decoupling capacitor
The capacitor used in the decoupling circuit is called a decoupling capacitor. It is mostly used in the DC voltage supply circuit of the multistage amplifier to eliminate the coupling interference between each stage of the amplifier and to filter out the interference of the output signal. As shown below.
3. Neutralization
The capacitor used in the neutralization circuit is called a neutralization capacitor, and is mostly used in high-frequency amplifiers in radios and high-frequency amplifiers in televisions to eliminate self-oscillation.
4. Coupling
The capacitor used in the coupling circuit is called a coupling capacitor, and is mostly used for the transmission and amplification process of the low-frequency signal to prevent the static working points of the two-stage circuit from interacting with each other, and the function of the DC-DC communication. As shown in C1 in the figure below.
5. Timing
The capacitor used in the timing circuit is called a timing capacitor and is used to control the time constant to control the charging and discharging time of the capacitor.
6. Filtering
Capacitors used in filter circuits are called filter capacitors and are used in various types of filters to remove signals in certain frequency bands.
7. High frequency vibration reduction
The capacitor used in the high-frequency vibration-absorbing circuit is called a high-frequency vibration-absorbing capacitor, and is mostly used in an audio negative feedback amplifier to eliminate the high-frequency howling phenomenon that may occur in the amplifier.
8. Compensation
The capacitor used in the compensation circuit is called the compensation capacitor, and is mostly used in the high and low frequency compensation circuit of the deck to enhance the high and low frequency signals in the playback signal.
9. Points
The capacitor used in the integrating circuit is called an integrating capacitor, and is mostly used in the synchronous separating circuit of the potential field scanning to separate the field sync signal from the field composite sync signal.
10. Differential
Capacitors used in differential circuits are called differential capacitors and are often used in flip-flop circuits to derive cusp trigger signals from various types of signals.
11. Bootstrap
The capacitor used in the bootstrap circuit is called the bootstrap capacitor and is used in the output stage circuit of the OTL power amplifier to boost the positive half-cycle amplitude of the signal by positive feedback.
12. Frequency division
The capacitor used in the frequency dividing circuit is called a frequency dividing capacitor, and is mostly used in the speaker frequency dividing circuit of the sound, so that the speaker of each frequency band operates in the respective frequency bands.
