Dalan Motor summarizes the difference between single capacitor and double capacitor of single-phase motor, which is simple and easy to understand!

Single-phase motors are divided into YL double-capacitor motors and YC single-capacitor motors. Many customers and friends are not clear about the difference between the two. Therefore, let's listen to the editor of Dalan Motor to tell you the difference between the two.

YL double capacitor asynchronous motor, also known as "capacitor start and run", refers to a motor with start capacitor and running capacitor. The starting capacitor is mainly to increase the starting torque of the motor. When the motor reaches about 75% of the rated speed, it is disconnected from the starting winding of the motor by the disengagement device. This starting device is generally called a "centrifugal switch", which can also be manually disengaged. The running capacitor also helps to start at the beginning of the motor, but it always accompanies the motor. Its main function is to balance the electromagnetic relationship between the main winding and the auxiliary winding of the motor and reduce the electromagnetic dead angle, so as to maximize the power of the motor and reduce noise and vibration.

There are two cases for YC single capacitor motor. One is called "capacitive start type". The function of this capacitor is to help the motor start. This type is generally used for relatively large single-phase motors with a power of more than 300W. The second type is called "capacitor operation type". This capacitor has both a starting function and a function of operation. This type is generally used on motors below 300w. The principle is the same as above.

Summary: If the same size iron core is used, the power of the capacitor start type should be small, the noise should be large, and the vibration should be severe. Conversely, the capacitor-operated power is large, the noise is low, and the vibration is low. Capacitor start-up and operation type overcome the above two shortcomings and promote the advantages. For low-power motors, since the starting torque is small, if a centrifugal device is added, the cost is increased, and the volume is increased, and there is no actual impact on starting, so capacitor-operated operation is generally used.
